Maintenance

Wool is a nice material to make clothes from because it is antibacterial and odor-resistant. Wool clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Hang the garment outside occasionally so that it can freshen up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent . Never rub hard when hand washing, to prevent felting. The village of Dale is situated between steep mountains, waterfalls and fjords on the west coast of Norway. In 1872 Peder Lebsen travelled through the small village of Dale, close to the city of Bergen. He saw Dale as the ideal place to establish a first-class textile manufacturing plant. The Dale of Norway textile mill was completed in 1879 and has been operating in Dale village ever since.

From the beginning, the focus was on making high-quality wool products. The factory quickly grew to become the largest employer in the region. Skilled knitters and craftsmen joined the company, often followed by their family members. This experience and expertise was then passed on to the next generation.
