Maintenance

Wool is a great material for making clothes because it is antibacterial and odor resistant. Woolen clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Occasionally hang the garment outside to freshen up. If you still want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent . When hand washing, never rub hard to avoid felting. Always check the label in the garment for the washing instructions. Always let woolen clothes dry flat.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay nicer and last longer. You also save the environment by airing instead of washing.

About Kerry Woollen Mills

Located on the beautiful Ring of Kerry on Ireland's Atlantic coast, the 17th Century Kerry Woollen Mills (17th Century Historic Mill) has been making fabrics and yarns from fine wools for over 300 years.

History :
Kerry Woollen Mills is one of the last remaining traditional wool mills still producing in the beautiful Kerry countryside. Established over 300 years ago to alleviate local poverty, the mill drew from the adjacent River Gweestin for the power to power its machinery and the water to wash and dye its wool. The mill was purchased in 1904 by the Eadie family, who had previously been active for many years in wool production in Fermangh and Scotland. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm of the family business.

The mill is in a rural location with many of the three hundred year old buildings still standing and functional! The range of machinery has of course changed many times over the years, combining tradition and contemporary styling for today's discerning customers in Ireland and beyond!

Kerry Woollen Mills makes products that last, give warmth and pleasure and are connected to Irish heritage and long-established skills.
