Material

The Waddenparel four-season duvet consists of two individual duvets, each filled with 100% sheep's wool. The summer duvet contains approx. 225 g/m² wool and the spring/autumn duvet contains approx. 400 g/m² wool. The different parts can be easily connected with each other using push buttons. A warm winter duvet is made in the blink of an eye by linking the light summer duvet to the thicker spring/autumn duvet.

The ticking is made of 100% cotton. Together with the unique moisture and temperature regulating properties of wool, the material ensures that you sleep dry at a pleasant temperature.

Different versions

Texelana has four different versions of wool-filled duvets. The difference lies in the quality of the ticking; this ranges from standard cotton to cotton sateen. Only the Exquisiet duvet has a different filling; in this type the summer duvet is filled with a mix of wool and wild silk.

  1. The Texelana Standard duvet has a cover of 100% cotton. This duvet is available in a four-season version.
  2. The Texelana Excellent duvet has a cover of percale cotton. Percale is woven with a higher thread count. This makes the fabric feel softer and smoother. The fabric also stays beautiful for longer due to the higher weave density. This duvet is available as a four-season duvet, but also as a separate summer duvet. spring/autumn or winter part.
  3. The Texelana Exquisiet duvet has a cotton satin cover. This is often confused with polyester satin, the shiny, smooth fabric. However, satin says nothing about the material, but about the way of weaving. Cotton satin is 100% natural cotton and therefore also has the fine properties of cotton: it breathes and is moisture-absorbent. Cotton sateen, however, feels softer and smoother than regular or percale cotton, due to the special 'satin weave'. The cotton is woven much closer together and therefore more threads are used. More threads per square inch means higher quality and smoother fabric. The satin weave also gives the fabric a slight sheen. Cotton satin therefore not only feels luxurious, but also looks luxurious! This duvet is available as a four-season duvet.
  4. The duvet Waddenparel has a cover of 100% cotton. This duvet is available in a four-season version.

The quality of the sheep's wool is the same for all types of duvets.

Warmth class

Although the parts of this four seasons can be used separately or together, this Waddenparel duvet falls into class 2 . See below for the warmth classes of the other duvets.

  • Class 4 is the thinnest, least warm and most suitable as a summer duvet.
  • Class 3 is medium warm and best suited for the spring and autumn months.
  • Class 2 is warm and most commonly used in winter.
  • Class 1 is the warmest class, which includes the thickest and warmest duvets. Texelana does not have a duvet in warmth class 1 in its range.

Maintenance

Wool only has positive properties, including the self-cleaning and antibacterial effect. This is due to the layer of wool fat present in the wool, also called lanolin. As a result, it is only necessary to air the duvet when you get up. Open the duvet for at least half an hour so that the wool can breathe and perspiration can be released into the air. It is advisable to hang the duvet outside every now and then (not in direct sunlight). This preserves the resilience and frizzy character of wool.

Stains can be carefully removed with a cloth and lukewarm soapy water. In principle, thorough cleaning is not necessary, but can be done by the dry cleaner if desired.

Origin

Since Texelana has no production capacity on Texel, all our duvets and blankets are made elsewhere in the Netherlands.
