This traditional Irish sweater is one of our bestsellers. The sweater features traditional Irish knitting patterns. The beehive pattern symbolizes the hardworking bee, or the hardworking fisherman. Rows of Irish cables are knitted in on both sides. These symbolize the ropes of fishing. These Irish patterns tell the story of life, so to speak.

This sweater can be worn by both men and women. Please note, sizing is based on men's sizes.

Washing instruction

Wool is a great material for making clothes because it is antibacterial and odor resistant. Woolen clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Occasionally hang the garment outside to freshen up. If you still want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent . When hand washing, never rub hard to avoid felting. Always check the label in the garment for the washing instructions. Always let woolen clothes dry flat.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay nicer and last longer. You also save the environment by airing instead of washing.

Pills and fluff

Wool can pill or pill with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that is mainly caused by friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural frizz (curls). Friction can cause the wool to pill and felt. With felting, the hairs join together due to the friction. In fact, any movement causes friction. You will therefore often find the fluff / pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

New clothes can sometimes also have some loose hairs left behind after the weaving and knitting process.

Unfortunately, pills and fluff on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing cannot be prevented. We have some tips to delay this process a bit and how to remove the lint and pills. For this information we refer you to our blog.
